| WOTAF Prologue The night was blackened by the clouds that covered the moon. Down below within the forests dwelled mystical creatures filled with elegance and grace, intelligence and power. This was a place where animals were capable of running through throughout a world of their own creation. The most powerful of these creatures were the wolves, filled with pride and holding intelligence within their glowing eyes these were creatures that held great power and stature amongst all others. This place within they dwell is called the Aurora Forest, but they didn’t always live here. Back in the ancient days when Sunray the great wolf of the life and light walked the earth alongside his brother Nebulas who is known now as the great spirit of death and chaos. They both lived among humans, not with their own kind, but people and they themselves were people as well. Sunray and his brother lived peacefully with humans and found that they were given the greatest gift ever, to transform into wolves. Sunray was yellow in colour and held brilliance in his gate as he walked the streets of the humans. He was respected and well known and Nebulas became utterly jealous. Within Nebulas’s jealousy he went on a killing spree through the world of his home, not having pity for any that came within his path. Crushing the bones of innocent children, tearing the adults to shreds and throwing livestock to the ground with his mighty jaws as if it were nothing but a feather. Hate dwelled within the black wolf that was Nebulas and his brother looked at what he did with great sympathy for Sunray never wanted to make his brother jealous in the least, but he went to speak with his brother. "Brother why must you cause so much chaos? What has urged you to cause this destruction upon the people of our home? If you are upset with me then kill me and not the good people of this realm". Nebulas had looked at his brother with great fury and apparent disgust that his brother would ever say such things. "I would be a filthy creature to kill my own brother", he had simply stated. "You are already being more than that by killing those who are innocent", Sunray calmly stated. Enraged by Sunray’s words Nebulas committed the crime that he himself had stated was so terrible and flung himself at his brother’s throat and killed him almost instantly. Nebulas looked at what he had done and howled of his victory and felt power surge within him at the thought that now he would be the only wolf within this realm, but then he remembered of Sunray’s wife, Diamond, and realized that she would one day bare his young. He was about to set off towards where she was resting. When he heard her mournful howl and saw the approach of humans coming towards him with Diamond in the lead hackles raised and teeth bared. "Foolish mortals...", Nebulas growled under his breath as he ran towards them, he knocked Diamond out of the way with little ease and fled through the humans taking as many lives in his wake as he possibly could as he fled into the forest. As Nebulas roamed the forest alone filling with anger and regret at the aspect of letting Diamond live and killing his own brother he believed that he truly was evil and began to wonder why he had ever done such a thing. Then it came to him. "Power...I wanted to be in control. To be in the only one in control. Without anyone else to tell me right from wrong to be the one to decide what's right and what's wrong", he growled solemly to himself. He proclaimed that he was the one that was right and it was his brother who had been wrong. "He never thought to control the pitiful humans. They were weak, they still are weak and I can control them", determined in his quest for determination he swung around and lunged through the valleys towards the village, but he his plan was suddenly turned against him. "These creatures should not be allowed to live!" "Agreed!" "They turned their backs on us!" "They're only traitors!" "Murderers!" "True born killers..." The towns people had begun to think for themselves and truly believed that he himself and his brother had been nothing, but killers. It was only for control he told himself, these pitiful creatures have no idea what it means to have complete power. Sacrifices must be made in order to keep balance with this world and these mortals have no true reason to be here, engulfed in rage Nebluas let out a howl of true hatred towards the humans that had made this world his home. He unleashed a greater power that none would ever would have thought to exist he turned the sky to dark, the moon didn't shine in the sky, the river was turned to blood and death seeped through the houses. Pleased with himself he began to roam the village and watch as the people ran at his sight to find shelter and refuge from this chaos that he had created. Fools, you think I can be defeated so easily. You run and hide at the sight of the things that you wish to do yourselves. You wish to cause destruction and lay your foulness upon those who are stronger than you, but your only weak! And here is the proof. You run and hide from the dark, well I am Darkness and you shall now all cower from me, pleasently pleased with himself he began to growl with pleasure at what had happened. "Nebulas, this is wrong! You're destroying this world for those who are good and wish to live in peace", Diamond spoke up from amongst the destruction and shrieks and behind her were other young wolves. "So we aren't the only ones...", Nebulas murmurred. "Come my brothers and sisters. Let us rule over those who are weaker than us and who truly fear our natural element, night". "No, you rule the night, but we rule the light and we shall not cast ourselves in shadows and to control the minds of those who are pure", Diamond snarled with anger. She gazed up at the sky with sadness glowing in her eyes and great sympathy for the black wolf that was full of so much hate. Nebulas watched her and realized he wished that he had fallen for him and not his brother. He shook his head violently and stared at her not wishing for her to be sad, but he would not allow himself to fall to such weakness. "I will do anything to gain control over this world...", he spoke to himself. "Then you will make us all perish", Diamond growled scornfully. She closed her eyes and howled mornfully to the blackened sky and her companions took the same note up with her and brought back the day. The village was left in ruins, but once again life would be able to co-exist peacefully here. "We are no longer welcome here my brothers and sisters we must move on", Diamond said hesitantely and turned her gaze to the wide and wild landscape, "we must leave". With that note she and her companions left leaving no sign that they were ever there. Nebulas watched them leave with anger and disbelief. "Cowards!", he cried out, "you have know idea what you're doing!" Nebulas felt the amber gaze of his brother bearing down on his back and he turned around to look in the eyes of his dead brother. "Impossible...", he breathed. "Brother, I am disapointed with what you have done, but for their to be balance there must be a choice to be made within our kind. One is to live with peace and without the worry of ever being mistreated. The other is the choice of power and how one will go about gaining such power, either by choices that will help or by those that will hurt. Brother, because of you humans and wolves will never be able to co-exist. None who are born with the right to be free will be able to live with those who must follow rules. Remember brother, for this is the reason you will be hated for the rest of your life", Sunray said the last parting words and left never to be heard from again by those who are claimed as civilized. Nebulas soon after was driven from the civilized world. Humans fought against him and never would back down to his submission, he was only a wolf they would comment and yet this angered Nebulas to every extent and eventually the world was once again brought down into chaos where none would always have to fight and never agree. There would always be conflict and never peace for that was the way things the Great Black Wolf wished them. Nebulas eventually left the humans no longer interested in controling a world that was driven into chaos there was no hope left for him. He had somehow gotten his revenge and he was satisfied, but he still wanted power and set off to find his own race once again. Survivers Prologue The sounds of footfalls were heard through the streets, over the cobalstone of dark alleys and heard on the paved sidewalks of the streets. The cries of fear and anger rang in the ears of many and claws raked down through the flesh of those trying to contain everything. Nets and cages lay wasted around the area some holding the friends, family and all were loved by everyone. Metal and wires cut through the flesh and jaws of several, the smell of blood was strong. Only the attackers and those that tried to flee were the only voices heard, the only creatures seen. Loud noises of egines and the smell of smoke wreaked the air as the world tossed and turned and those stashed with other bloodied bodies within the messhing of wire and screaming were unfortunate to also have to watch many of their comrades die at their sides. A horrible sight to any birds or creatures that were not at the threat of attack would watch in horror and maybe even joy, for who likes a predator? That's what we are after all, but we are strong. They have taken us from our home torn us from our family ties, taken us from all that we love and enjoy. They snatched us from the sun beating down on our fur. They will pay, for we will escape and no matter what they do we will always survive. That I am sure, they have already done the most vile thing they could ever do. Take us from our home, but we will return and we'll find a better place. One where they won't ever find us and where we can live in peace and without fear of ever being treated like dirt again. We will survive that is a promise that I hold for any of contained here and brought to these places that reek of plastic and rubber. Of poison and death, of drugs and anesthetics. It's amazing how much you reconize after being here for so long, but I don't belong here, none of us do. The torture we went through in our home and the pain we suffer while contained here. It's disgusting I hate those creatures in the long flowing pelts, they must pay. They will die, I swear it. Sun streamed down through the open window and glimmered off the surface of the cage and reflected into the eyes of a creature laying in a heap. Full of exhaustion it stretched out it's legs and opened eyes filmed with a bright blue haze. It held no pupils and it's whiskers glowed a light blue colour. It looked up at the window and smiled slightly. It was one of the luckiest to have gotten an enclosure near a window and to see light again, but through it's eyes everything seemed different. Once this cat had been blind, but through the binding of its nerves in its eyes and through other experimentation on its genese and cells it had begun to see, to think and became more intelligient by the day. The project being worked on here had been claimed a success and this grey tom was the result of it as well as many of the other cats being held in the same place. Some he knew and some he didn't they had all come from different places and some had experiments done to intensify their emotions, some would never be able to live with others, some were now killers, some now had no claws and their eyes were hazed over with white and could no longer see or even provide for themselves and some had turned to be wise and bold. Each cat was different, but there was a young cat that the grey tom peered over to see. She held bright light green eyes and her green claws always were extending as if she were preparing an attack and her glowing whiskers twitched as if she were in deep thought. He looked more closely at her and saw a calculating expression on her face and realized that she was plotting an escape. Escape?, the grey tom thought for a moment, yes, freedom from this insanity. From the metal under my paws and coldness of this place. The death and bloodshed that has been dealt...I've had quite enough of it, he looked back at the young spotted tabby, she was very unusual he realized and perhaps they all stood a chance at freedom, but who this young she-cat free them all or just herself? He pondered this a moment before shrugging the thought off. No one has escaped and no one ever will, with that last grim thought he went back to sleep. Back and fourth, back and fourth. That's all I can do in this damn place! Another young cat walked back and fourth behind the bars that held him within his enclosure. He was a brown tabby with silver stripes and yellow glowing eyes, white whiskers and red claws. He was the only cat with different coloured whiskers of that of the glow of his claws and even his eye colour was unusual. He was the only one with yellow eyes and he was the only one to udergo extreme personality and attitude changes. He had become incredibly agressive and even had lost the memory of his loved ones and of his family. He only cared about himself and that he wanted to kill the white coated flesh walkers that held him here. He had no memory of the chaos from before and he didn't much care how he had got here he just wanted to escape. He always waited until they opened his enclosure, but they always darted him and he fell into a deep sleep. He always awoke to know what they had done and it made him even more furious. His name was Tiger and he was called that for his strength and fierceness. All the other cats were thankful for the safety of iron and bars that kept him at bay. While he continued to shift back and fourth he stared off to see a pale white cat below him. She was so small and frail and he suddenly for the first time ever, felt sympathy for another. He peered down at her called: "Hey, are you alright?", he whispered so no one else could hear. She lifted her head up and flicked her ears above her and she looked up at him with pale blue eyes and he realized she was one of their twisted eye experiments. She smiled weakly up at him. "Hello, Tiger", she called up at him. "You know my name?", he asked, surprised. "Of course, I'd reconize your eyes anywhere. That's all I can see now. Are eyes", she replied, sadly. "What's your name?", he awkwardly. "Dove", she answered. "I won't let them hurt you anymore, Dove. I promise", he whispered quietly. Just as he had spoken those words and before Dove could reply to his promise he heard the clicking of a lock openeing and swung around to see that the cage door below his had opened. Eyes widened he realized they had come to retrieve Dove for whatever twisted crap they intended to put her through. He cried out and flung himself to the edge of his cage and swung a paw through the bars and with long, razor red claws extended he sliced through the flesh of white pelted flesh walker. He hissed as his claws tore deep down into the creature that had inflicted so much pain. The flesh walker gave a yelp and Tiger took glee in it's pain, you damned creature, you won't harm Dove!. He pulled his paw back and glared angrily at the creature with his yellow eyes glowing with anger. Another creature came to see the damage and quickly closed the door to Dove's enclosure preventing her escape. Tiger left the foul creatures to themselves as he went to look down at Dove. "Are you alright?", he asked, his voice full of concern. "Yes. Thank-you, Tiger. But now they will be angry and I wouldn't want them to hurt you because of me", she whispered back. "Don't worry about me, you don't deserve whatever else they have planned for you", he said, simply. "Thanks again...", she whispered, "I'll always remember you". Before Tiger could respond to her sorrowful words his ears flicked up at the sound of snap from behind and before he could turn around to attack another fleshie trying to harm Dove he felt a pain in his side. He hissed and turned to glare angrily at the man holding the dart gun. "Damn you...", he said between gritted teeth as his vision became clouded, he moved to the door of his cage ready to swipe at anyone daring to touch him or the cat below, but his claws barely reached their skin as they removed Dove from her cage. He watched in agony as he saw them take her away and tried as hard as he could to get up and try to free himself. The drugs worked to fast and the last thing he saw was Dove's frightended eyes before collapsing into darkness. |
